Experts explored the latest hypertension resources, provided practical advice for blood pressure control, shared expert insights, and offered tangible next steps for communities.

Panelists
Neyal J. Ammary-Risch -Team Lead for Health Education & Research Dissemination at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). She oversees health education and communication efforts spanning a range of heart, lung, blood, and sleep disorders, and manages The Heart Truth®, Learn More Breathe Better®, and the Blood Diseases & Disorders Education Program and their respective partnership networks. She has worked as a public health educator at NIH for over 20 years and is passionate about translating scientific information into programs and resources that help people take better control of their health.
Dr. Janet S. Wright - Director of the Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Prior to her appointment, she served as the acting Director of Science and Policy within the Office of the Surgeon General (OSG) where she received the 2020 Surgeon General’s Award for Exemplary Service. From 2011 to 2019, Dr. Wright served as executive director of Million Hearts®, a national HHS initiative that CDC co-leads with CMS to prevent 1 million heart attacks and strokes over a five-year period. Dr. Wright practiced cardiology for many years in Chico, California and served on ACC’s Board of Trustees, NCQA’s Physician Program Committee, and the Center for Information Therapy.
Malorie Polster - Physical Activity Advisor at the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. In her current role, she leads the implementation of the National Youth Sports Strategy, supports the development of the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans, and serves as a subject matter expert for the Move Your Way® campaign. Last year, she helped develop the Federal Hypertension Control Leadership Council’s Physical Activity Action Plan. Prior to her current role, she has engaged with physical activity policy and promotion at both the national and local levels.
