Judging

Phase 1: Scoring Criteria (Identification of innovative programs)

All Criteria are scaled 1-10, with 1 being the lowest score on each dimension and 10 being the highest score on each dimension. Scores are weighted by the proportion of each dimension and then aggregated to create a final score. Judging criteria for Phase 1 include (Total Points 100%):

• Demonstrated understanding of EDCs that have the greatest impact on Black or African American women across the life course, including but not limited to quantitative and/or qualitative research: (25%)
• Ability and/or plan of the program to address differences impacting women's understanding of EDCs and their associated exposure risk: (25%)
• Ability of the program to apply evidence-based interventions to reduce knowledge gaps and provide populations served resources and solutions to reduce EDC exposure risk(s), where that program could be or is already applied to Black or African American women: (30%)
• How the program is innovative at targeting knowledge gaps and providing populations served with resources and solutions to reduce EDC exposure risk(s): (20%)

Phase 2: Scoring Criteria (Awarding programs with demonstrated effectiveness) 

All Criteria are scaled 1-10, with 1 being the lowest score on each dimension and 10 being the highest score on each dimension. Scores are weighted by the proportion of each dimension and then aggregated to create a final score. Judging criteria for Phase 2 include (Total Points 100%):

• Demonstrates effectiveness (statistical significance) in increasing knowledge and reducing the risk of EDC exposure in Black or African American women: (30%)
• Demonstrates likely effectiveness for replication and/or expansion: (1) in another geographic area or a wider geographic area; (2) in another setting; and/or (3) by increasing the size and/or reach of the program: (25%)
• Demonstrates stakeholder collaborations or a plan to develop collaborations with community-based partners (25%)
• Demonstrates that the program has long-term viability: (20%)

• Successfully implements a program that increases knowledge and reduces the risk of EDC exposure in Black or African American women: (30%)
• Demonstrates that the program successfully replicated and/or expanded: (1) in another geographic area or a wider geographic area; (2) in another setting; and/or (3) by increasing the size and/or reach of the program: (50%)
• Demonstrates a sustainability plan with the capacity to improve knowledge gaps and access to resources and solutions beyond the challenge timeline (20%).
