Description: Aloha! The KA`U Local Area Consortium once again will be sponsoring our Third Annual Ka`u Ladies Night Out. It will be a night filled with fun, food, games, health awareness, beauty tips and prizes! Invitation only for 30 selected female individuals targeting our pregnant teens, Hawaiian/Part Hawaiian, Pacific Islanders, Filipino and Hispanic population. Our purpose is to educate these women and increase awareness about different health issues, prevention and/or solutions. Through the different health and community agencies these women will learn firsthand about various health topics such as diabetes, breast cancer, sex education, high blood pressure, cholesterol checks, eye care, dental care, drug education and more. We will not only educate them on these various health topics but also provide them with the different resources available to help them improve their health and lifestyle. This will all be incorporated through presentation, games and prizes!! As women, we tend to take care of others (children, spouse, parents, grandparents, friends, community) before ourselves. For the majority of us women we are the “rock” for our family or the person that holds our family together but if we don’t take care of ourselves (women) we will not be able to take care of others. Hence, the title “MALAMA KE KAHUA, NA WAHINE!” translated into English “Taking Care of Our Foundation, Women!” If you are interested in participating as a vendor to share your “mana'o” please contact us at the information below. There is no charge to this free event for table space. Please note that selling of your product is not allowed at this event. Donations for our giveaways are welcomed. Please respond by Monday, April 1, 2013 to reserve a space. Looking forward to hearing from you!
